The Salève, a mountain of discovery!
Known for its cliffs and the marvellous panorama that it offers from the top, the Salève is also a place of leisure and discovery. Numerous activities await groups of all ages. For full enjoyment, it is best to organise a circuit with, for example, a visit of the Maison de Salève, an ascent in the cable car, a meal followed by a leisure activity.

Get high

Leaving from Pas de l'Echelle, the Salève cable car lifts you up to an altitude of 1100 m in under 5 minutes. From the top of the cliffs you will discover an incredible panorama over Geneva and its water jet, Lake Geneva, the Alps and the Mont-Blanc.

Have fun

Numerous activities are possible not far from the cable car. The chance to relax, enjoy something or just have a laugh, depending on each group.

Priority to nature

Visit of the botanical path from the cable car, to admire a wide variety of floral and tree species? (1/2 an hour, without difficulty)
Discover the fauna and flora
Walk through the mountain pastures with a view of Mont Blanc (150 km of marked-out maintained paths, from short walks to mountain path).
Evening walk in nature
Introduction to astronomy under the starry sky, to learn to recognise the constellations and listen to their legends.

A glimpse at our heritage and culture
Visit of the Maison du Salève, an exhibition, exploration and awareness of protecting the Salève centre
Discover the religious heritage of the Salève, following the tracks of the Chartreuse monks and the Compostelle path.

For the love of games and sports
Orientation race with map, compass and questionnaire about the mountain range
MTB
Tyrolienne, etc.

In the winter
Snow games, snowshoes, tobogganing, igloo construction, orientation races

For the pleasure of tasting the local products Wine, fruit juice, local cold meats and cheeses can be tasted during a short easy panoramic walk.

Food

At the top of the cable car, the restaurant Le Panoramique welcomes groups and organises drinks, cocktails, lunches or dinners, evenings. It can accept groups up to 400 people.

Horizon has a 100² room with a capacity of 60 people in a classroom or 40 in a meeting.

How to make sure that your group outing is a success

Invent your own circuit or
Let yourself be guided by the professionals: the Bureau de la Montagne Salève-Vuache and the maison du Salève have a team of mountain guides, accompaniers and instructors to advise you or join your group.

A seminar, a meal, an inauguration to organise? Choose the Salève cable car and its new restaurant – your guests will be delighted!

The Cable Car's restaurant, Le Panoramique, welcomes you for your seminars, business meals, press conferences … in a welcoming area with all the necessary equipment.

By choosing the « Seminar » formula, you benefit from the following services:

Come to the Salève cable car, and we will open up our doors to you onto a magic area which offers all of the above at the same time!

Teachers, to improve your outings and let your pupils evolve in a natural surrounding how about the cable car! In less than 5 minutes it takes you to the door of a magnificent nature learning ground.

8 structures, all linked to the Salève, offer 7 educational days to discover the Salève.

Green light for biological corridors.

A magnificent nature path !
Discover by yourself or with the family, the different animal populations as well as the biological corridors and the obstacles that can be found along them.

There are two beautiful fun and instructive walks, on the valley floor or in mid-mountain (with access using the cable car, of course!). The two circuits are marked out by this little picture all along the two itineraries.

End of year outing

June is getting closer and the end of year school outing too. Why not come to the Salève by cable car: Under 5 minutes of transport and you arrive at the top where a huge learning playground awaits you!

Possibility to discover the Salève alone or with a guide from the la Maison du Salève or from the Bureau de la Montagne Salève Vuache

Practical information

Each cable car cabin holds 60 children.
The ascent lasts 5 minutes
The altitude at the top is exactly 1097 metres, you will find yourself in the mid-mountain, don't forget to equip you little mountain dwellers suitably (good walking shoes, warm clothes, sunglasses, water bottle….)
