This project has been created within the framework of a cross-border awareness of “Corridors Biologiques” co-financed by the Swiss Confederation, the Conseil General of Haute-Savoie, a private foundation, the Republic and the Canton of Geneva, the European Union – European Regional Development Fund.
Apollon 74, the Frapna and Pro Natura are the three associations which have supported and developed this great project. Don’t hesitate to consult their sites to find out more!
Discover Mycology
The Salève is home to a number of mushroom varieties, some common ones (russules, cepes, lactaires, agarics) and some rarer ones ((hygrocybes, cortinaires, entolomes, cystolépiotes...) The short-cropped grasslands and copses of beech constitute, along with the peat below the Tour des Pitons, a very interesting place for the committed mycologist as well as the novice. The Salève is equally an interesting place for botanists.
To find out more about the mushrooms and lots of additional information visit the site of Discovering Mushrooms!.
A fascinating site where you will find, amongst other things, beautiful photographs, but also a programme of organised conferences, and some very detailed reports. print (new window)
